Destiny Online

Tip #1 - Turn Up Your Brightness! (especially at Crota's End)
Destiny Game Settings - Brightness
Destiny is a wonderful game that allows you to interact with many different types of environments. However, much of the action often takes place underground or in some dark setting. So don't be dim! A simple fix for those of us with less-than-perfect vision is to adjust the game's brightness settings. Seems like a no-brainer, right? Well, actually a lot of smart people overlook this or just don't know how to do it.

How to adjust Brightness settings:

  • Hit "Options" button on your controller
  • Go to "Settings"
  • Select "Brightness" (adjust accordingly)

When conducting a Raid such as Crota's End, it's important to turn up the brightness — especially during the first part of the raid, otherwise you'll be stepping in large craters every few seconds! If your eyesight isn't 20/20 anymore, this is must!

Tip #2 - Use Consumables to Maximize Glimmer
A quick, easy way to get glimmer is by using consumables prior to running any missions and/or strikes. The consumable you use will depend on your Strike or Mission:
  • Resupply Codes = Cabal / Mars Strikes & Missions
  • Black Wax Idol = Hive / Moon Strikes  & Missions
  • Ether Seeds = Fallen / Earth Strikes & Missions
  • Blue Polyphage = Vex / Venus Strikes & Missions

Tip #3 - Maximize Experience / Leveling By Aligning Bounties with Strikes & Missions

You know the saying about killing two birds with one stone? Even if you don't, the same thing applies with Destiny.  You can often pick up bounties from the Tower and accomplish three or four in quick succession by stacking your bounties up and running one Strike or Nightfall mission.

Here's an example of a combination:
  • Relic Harvest
  • Knuckleduster
  • Nightfall Strike / Weekly Strike on the Moon

Options:

  • Patrol the Moon
  • One for All
There are several different combinations you can do. The idea is to pair the bounties with the Strikes / Missions you're running to try and knock out as many as possible.

Tip #4 - Power-Leveling Your Weapons
To level your weapons efficiently, make sure to complete five or six bounties at a time (see Tip #3 above). After completing your missions, make sure to have the appropriate weapons equipped to level them up. A quick way to tell if your weapon is maxed is by looking at the blue circle around the weapon.

Tip #5 - Always Carry Extra Heavy Ammo Synthesis
You know not to bring a knife to a gunfight, right?  That goes double in Destiny when it comes to raiding! It's important to always have extra heavy ammo on hand, especially on the raid bosses. There's nothing worse than getting to the big, game-ending finale... and running out of ammo! Nobody wants to hear, "click, click, click!"
